PRIVATE MUSIC LESSONS

Areas Served

For my in home lessons I travel to most parts of Montgomery County (east of the blue route / 476.) I also travel to the Doylestown / Central Bucks school district area of Bucks County. If you live outside these areas and would like a lesson please feel free to contact me, but be warned that there might be additional charges to account for increased driving time. My availability may also be limited to lessons before 3pm or Saturdays for areas outside of the map.

Lesson Policies

Cancellations (updated august 2023)

Music lessons are meant to be fun and enjoyable experiences, but regular attendance is required if lessons are to have their full effect. When a cancellation must be made, please try to give as much notice as possible. If a student cancels a lesson with less than 24 hour notice, the full price of the lesson must be paid. If possible a make- up lesson will be scheduled, but this is not guaranteed and will be dealt with on a case-by-case basis.
Prime time lessons (3:30pm – 8pm) mon-thurs
Not counting school holidays students are expected to attend a minimum of 3/4 (4/5 for 5 week months) of their lessons. If attendance regularly falls below this threshold no credits will be given for missed lessons even with 24 hours notice. The 24 hour cancellation policy also applies to last minute illnesses. The prime time lesson spots are very popular and payment for lessons also includes reserving these in demand time slots. Credits are meant to be for emergencies not regular occurrences. If you would prefer a more flexible schedule I would be happy to accommodate you with a spot outside of these prime hours.

Recommended Materials:

The only thing required for lessons is an instrument that is in good working order; however, there are several items that come highly recommended. The first is some sort of notebook or folder for the students to use as an organizer for lesson materials. the second is a metronome, a device that will keep time so the student can practice a steady beat. For guitar students, a guitar tuner is also highly recommended, as a tuner will help make sure the strings are at the correct pitch

Lesson Prices: (updated august 2023)

Lessons are given in the student’s home, so pricing can vary based on the travel distance required, please contact me for details. Lesson prices are based on a scale depending on the length of the lesson. If for any reason a change in lesson length is requested the hourly rate will be adjusted accordingly. For in home lesson clients there will be periodic rate increases going forward due to the elevated inflation rate.

Payment: (updated august 2023)

Lesson Payments are due at the beginning of each lesson. As of now, the accepted forms of payment are electronic payments (venmo / paypal / cash app) and cash.

Trial Lesson:

I want you to be confident in my training and my teaching style, therefore I offer a trial lesson to anyone who wants to come meet me and sample my teaching style. If you aren’t 100% satisfied and decide not to come back, the lesson is free. If on the other hand you enjoy the lesson and want to work with me long term, the lesson will be billed at the regular rate.

Lesson Length (updated august 2023)

Lessons can be any length. The most popular lesson lengths are 1 hour every week and 45 minutes every week. Every other week lessons are offered outside of prime time hours (mon-thurs 3:30pm to 8pm.) In person lessons need to be at least 45 minutes due to driving and scheduling issues. 30 minute lessons are only available in rare situations (younger children) or over zoom.
